A Bit About Me
I've been a storyteller for as long as I can remember. I wrote fairy tales in my bedroom and created worlds where my characters had to solve problems. In college, I explored journalistic writing and digital production through short-form videos on social media. I loved asking questions and finding answers to share truth and create stories that prompt change.
Now, I am a recent graduate from The University of Tampa who flourishes in writing and creating compelling stories that resonate with everyone. When I was in college, I wrote and edited the news section for The Minaret student newspaper. I also interned at WMNF, a local radio station in my community that taught me audio recording and editing. At the same time, I was curating the social media accounts for The University of Tampa Press and the MASEM program, where I applied photography, video production, and caption writing to create brand narratives. I then attended the World Journalism Institute in Sioux Center, Iowa, where I received hands-on training in feature writing and broadcast storytelling.
My Work
My three specialties are journalism, social media curation, and photography. They each have taught me to ensure my work is transparent, accurate, helpful, informative, and visually appealing.
Through journalism, I've been able to report on topics that burden my community, like homelessness and human trafficking. As an editor at The Minaret, I helped others improve their writing and meet professional standards.
Working for UTampa's M.A. in Social and Emerging Media (MASEM) introduced me to graphic design, video editing, pushing the limits of mobile photography, and writing engaging captions. I then continued developing those skills at The University of Tampa Press as I managed their social media accounts. I've worked with various social media platforms like Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, and I plan to step into TikTok and YouTube shorts.
