My article, "UTampa's Hidden Nursing Mothers' Rooms," was one of three finalists in the 2025 Sunshine State Awards for the Race & Underrepresented Communities Coverage. The Minaret entered my investigative piece that tackled the University of Tampa's lactation rooms for pregnant and parenting students. Every year, the Society for Professional Journalists honors the best in Florida journalism, including student media.

The Charlene Gordon Award for Student Media

I earned this generous award from Mrs. Charlene Gordon at The University of Tampa's College of Arts and Letters Awards Ceremony. I was chosen by faculty in my program who believed I lived by a strong desire to succeed as a student and young professional.
The Dean of the College of Arts and Letters cited my investigative piece on the inadequate lactation room on campus, my professionalism and empathy, my opinion pitches at The Minaret that provoked important conversations, and my focus on underrepresented voices and issues in my reporting.
